Tonight we faced off
Like David and Goliath
Like David we won
Tonight we hosted a Graham Kendrick gig, and together wrestled the PA into submission.

Poem 1045 – Day’s End
Conference calling!
Boom, boom! The PA goes boom!
But darkness brings peace
I love our annual Conference, but I also love the peace of the journey back home each day…

Poem 1039 – Champions’ League Haiku
Ngumoha’s dance
Exasperation transformed
Seven goal thriller
Found I could watch tonight’s match and so almost ran out of time to write…

Poem 1034 – Yet Another Haiku
Poem 1031 – More Than This?
Doing my returns
Checking out my interest
Discerning my worth
An email from my accountant, it must be tax returns time…

Poem 1026 – The Eulogist’s Quandary
How can one convey
A life in fifteen minutes
And not the life it takes
For it to be unfurled
Preparing a funeral this evening

Poem 1025 – Harvest Hills
Man-made mountain range
Tectonic plates surge upwards
Gratitude ridges
Another busy day with the foodbank, not just arranging parcels, but receiving so much food from our generous Borough. I don’t think I can lift another crate today, I’m totally exhausted but so grateful.

Poem 1024 – Just Three Lines?
A hasty haiku’s
Poetic simplicity
Conceals spaciousness
No time today for anything more than a haiku. A simple form but not to be dismissed!

Poem 1020 – Celebrity Traitors
Fame, a two edged sword.
Does notoriety help?
Or does it hinder?
Here we go again…

Poem 1004 – Today
The alarm went off
Followed by relentless work
I set the alarm
It wasn’t quite that bad, squeezed a terrific game in at the end of the day, but that would have spoilt the Haiku!
